Ondo Terror Attack: Akeredolu Confirms Arrest Of 5 Masterminds, Host

Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has confirmed the arrest of the terrorists who attackd St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, killing scores of worshipers.

The governor spoke on Tuesday shortly after the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, announced the arrest in Abuja.

Governor Akeredolu further disclosed that the owner of the house where the attackers stayed before the June 5 attack in Owo has also been arrested.

He said: “Now that the military has announced it, I can tell you that five of them have been arrested now. They are still on the trail of the rest. The home where they lodged in Owo and the person that accommodated them before the attack, has also been arrested.

We did not spare a moment. I am happy that the Chief of Defence Staff has announced it. We have known for a while but we needed not to come out with it because more works are still ongoing. I can confirm that this arrest has been made. And they are still on the trail of some of them.”


Meanwhile, Governor Akeredolu has also called on leaders of the Ebira community in the State to warn their young ones not to venture into kidnapping.


Akeredolu spoke during a courtesy visit to his office by the leadership of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) led by its chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite


He noted that the government did not spare a moment in trailing the terrorists since the horrendous attack on innocent worshipers at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Owo town.

Ondo Amotekun Arrests Four-Man Kidnap Syndicate In Akure

  Officials of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun have arrested a four-man kidnap syndicate in Akure, the state capital. The commander of Amotekun in the state, Adetunji Adeleye, while parading the suspects said they were apprehended after kidnapping three persons along Oda road in Akure during a night operation while it was raining. According to Adeleye, the suspects initially kidnapped four persons, but one person was able to escape while they took the rest of them to their hideout. He said after getting wind of the incident, Amotekun operatives swung into action and rescued two persons that night, and subsequently arrested the suspects during negotiations for ransom. APC Congress: Ondo lawmaker, group accuse Akeredolu of imposition

The lawmaker representing the Ifedore / Idanre federal constituency, at the House of Representatives, Hon. Bamidele Baderinwa,  on Thursday , alleged the  Ondo state governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, of scheming to impose candidates at the ward congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) holding  on Saturday .
