Youths Reject Proposed LCDAs In Akure For Lopsidedness

Akure North with one of the biggest land mass and Akure South with the biggest population and largest contribution to the economy of the state deserve more LCDAs as both LGs are crucial to the development of the State. If the aim of the creation of the LCDAs is to bring development closer to the grassroots, then citing the headquarters of the new LCDA from Akure North in Oba-Ile, which an urban area, defeats such aim when there are less developed communities like Ilu-Abo, Igbatoro, Igoba, etc. The map of the State has been balkanised to cede various parts of Akure to other communities and this will not be accepted. The idea of equalling the unequals by creating same number of LCDAs in the three senatorial districts of the State without taking into consideration the various factors listed in (2) above is against the rule of fairness and equity. @70: Oyemekun Grammar School Alumni Back Return Of School To Stakeholders

  As the school clocks 70, the Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure Alumni Association has expressed support for key stakeholders to take over the runnings of the school from the Ondo state government. Ondo Govt Reacts To Anglican’s Plans To Take Over Two Popular Schools In Akure

  The Ondo state government has endorsed plans by Anglican Church to take over famous Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure and Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar school, on  Monday 17th October, 2022 reported the efforts being made by the Anglican Church in Ondo state to take over the schools as confirmed by Most Reverend Simeon Borokini, the Anglican Bishop of Akure Diocese and Archbishop of Ondo  Ecclesiastical province. Ondo PS Education Commends Oyemekun Principal Over Projects

 The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education in Ondo State, Mrs Lola Amuda has lauded the Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School,Akure, Mr Ogunleye Okeowo over Project embarked upon in the school, describing him as a pacesetter and role model to other schools in Ondo State. She made this remarks during her assessment tour to the school, assessing the preparation of the Oyemekun Grammar School as students resume for 2022/23 academic session. Ondo Terror Attack: Akeredolu Confirms Arrest Of 5 Masterminds, Host

Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has confirmed the arrest of the terrorists who attackd St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, killing scores of worshipers. The governor spoke on Tuesday shortly after the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, announced the arrest in Abuja. Governor Akeredolu further disclosed that the owner of the house where the attackers stayed before the June 5 attack in Owo has also been arrested. He said: “Now that the military has announced it, I can tell you that five of them have been arrested now. They are still on the trail of the rest. The home where they lodged in Owo and the person that accommodated them before the attack, has also been arrested. We did not spare a moment. I am happy that the Chief of Defence Staff has announced it. We have known for a while but we needed not to come out with it because more works are still ongoing. Gunmen attack police station, kill officer

 Temenu Boluwaji, an officer of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has been killed by gunmen in an attack on Okuta Elerinla police station in Akure, Ondo state. The gunmen invaded the police station in the early hours of Monday. Odunlami Funmilayo, the police spokesperson, confirmed the development in a statement, saying the deceased was hit by a stray bullet during a shootout with the gunmen.
