Appointment: New Chairman Ondo Council Of Obas Aladetoyinbo Appreciates Akeredolu, Promises Vibrant Traditional Institution

  The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo has received the news of his appointment as the Chairman of Ondo State Council of Obas with utmost joy and all sense of humility. Oba Aladetoyinbo wishes to appreciate our amiable and dynamic Governor, Mr. Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for the appointment most importantly at a time when there should be more synergy and collaboration between the Government and the Traditional Institutions in the area of security and overall development of the State. Ondo State Waste Management Authority (ODSWMA), seals off popular supermarkets, Arowolo Bookshop, others,

  off no fewer than five popular buildings within Akure, the state capital. The affected buildings were the popular Arowolo Bookshop, NAO Supermarkets, Olukayode building, which are all situated on Oba Adesida road. Others include Rainbow Furniture at Bye-pass junction, and Salon Mega store along Isikan/Cathedral axis of the state capital. The five buildings were said to have been sealed off by the Ondo State Waste Management Authority, ODSWMA, due to what was described as their unsanitary and unhygienic practices. According to the General Manager of ODSWMA, Mrs Ayo Adeyemo, the owners of the five buildings violated environmental laws and failed to comply with the laid down hygienic practices. While stating that the buildings were sealed off following court order of the court, Adeyemo maintained that the move was part of the ongoing sensitisation and enforcement campaign of the Authority to ensure total compliance with environmental laws of the state and as well prevent possible outbre

Deji of Akure can’t impose leader on us — Ndigbo; no going back, monarch responds

 A crisis is brewing in Akure, the Ondo State capital as the Ndigbo have rejected the alleged imposition of a leader on them by the traditional ruler, Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi. Kicking against the imposition of Titus Umenweke, the Ndigbo in the state said that “the imposition of someone who contested and lost election can cause rift and destroy the relationship between Igbo and Yoruba in the state. Their rejection was contained in a statement issued in Akure by the Onowu of Ndigbo (Ondo State) and Secretary, Association of Ndieze in Diaspora, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ondo State Chapter, High Chief (Sir) Cyril Anyaku and Chief Ikechukwu Anoliefo, respectively. According to them, “this is a time-bomb that will do no one good. Recall that Oba Aladelusi had announced Titus Umenweke as the leader of the Ndigbo in the state after outlawing the title five years ago.
