  The Ondo state government has endorsed plans by Anglican Church to take over famous Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure and Fiwasaye Girls’ Grammar school, on  Monday 17th October, 2022 reported the efforts being made by the Anglican Church in Ondo state to take over the schools as confirmed by Most Reverend Simeon Borokini, the Anglican Bishop of Akure Diocese and Archbishop of Ondo  Ecclesiastical province. Reacting, the commissioner for education and science and technology, Femi Agagu in an interview  said the state government was ready to return public schools to missions showing interest.  The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education in Ondo State, Mrs Lola Amuda has lauded the Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School,Akure, Mr Ogunleye Okeowo over Project embarked upon in the school, describing him as a pacesetter and role model to other schools in Ondo State. She made this remarks during her assessment tour to the school, assessing the preparation of the Oyemekun Grammar School as students resume for 2022/23 academic session. The Permanent Secretary said Oyemekun has always been at the forefront of schools in Ondo State, in terms of academic, Sports, discipline and self embarked projects.
