ATTACK ON THE PDP CAMPAIGN TEAM IN IPELE, OWO We use this opportunity to inform the general public that the APC-led government of Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu has continued its pursuit of promoting violence in this election. Our campaign team was yet again attacked by members of the APC in Ipele who had blocked access to the palace of the king and the maternal home of the PDP candidate in a bid to deny him access to both places earlier scheduled to be visited by Mr. Eyitayo Jegede SAN. Prior to our entry into Ipele, touts and miscreants under the APC had unleashed terror on our members with several casualties. These miscreants were dispersed by a joint team of police and NSCDC officers. The DPO of Ipele is alleged to have not only supervised the assault but also arrested six members of the PDP including the youth leader whose hands had been broken by the attackers and beaten to a coma. WE HAVE BEEN ABANDONED FOR LONG, COME TO OUR RESCUE – ONDO ARTISANS BEG AGBOOLA

 Members of the Ondo State Artisans Group (OSAG) have called on the state Deputy Governor and flagbearer of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Hon Agboola Ajayi, to come to their rescue and save their means of livelihood that has suffered economic downturn since the emergence of the present government in the state. The group, at an interactive session with former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, in Akure, on Tuesday, said since Mimiko left office in 2017, artisans in the state have been neglected by the state government as they no longer get government patronage crucial to boosting the local economy of the state. President General of OSAG, Comrade Daisi Akomolafe, appealed to the ZLP and its candidate to "come to the rescue of artisans in the state and provide the needed direction". He said Mimiko is the first governor in Nigeria to recognise artisans and traders by patronising them either through associations or on individual basis. ONDO 2020:I WILL REDUCE ONDO UNIVERSITY TUITION FEE FROM N180K TO N50K WHEN ELECTED – ZLP CANDIDATE AGBOOLA AJAYI

 Ondo State Deputy Governor and the governorship candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has said his government will reduce the tuition fees of the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) to N50,000 when elected governor of the state. Ajayi gave the promise at the campaign flagoff of the ZLP in Ore, on Saturday. AAUA students currently pay between N150,000 to N180,000 as tuition fee. The fee was increased from N30,000 by the present APC government.

FG okays full reopening of schools

  The Federal Government says state governments and school administrators should start making preparations for the full reopening of schools in the country. The  schools were early shut in March as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease. However, the FG announced the resumption of graduating pupils effective August 4, 2020, to write this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination from August 17, 2020, through September 12, 2020. Speaking on Thursday, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu, during a briefing at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, said the task force recommends phased return of students to classrooms.
